Day 1: Cairo
Night departure: the bus picks you up from the hotel and then collects tourists from other hotels (about 1.5 hours). The road to Cairo takes 7 hours.
National Museum: the largest collection of Ancient Egyptian-era artifacts, guided by a Russian-speaking history guide.
Lunch: a national-cuisine restaurant on the Nile waterfront; optionally a boat ride or rest on the bus.
Giza Plateau: the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx, 40 minutes of free time.
Oil and papyrus shops: an opportunity to buy souvenirs.
Dinner and rest at a Cairo hotel.
Day 2: Alexandria
Morning departure: the bus picks you up from the hotel; the road to Alexandria is 3 hours. Breakfast — a packed meal from the hotel.
Montaza Royal Park and Palace: a walk around the grounds of King Farouk’s summer residence; the palace is viewed from the outside.
Library of Alexandria: a modern architectural complex with historical significance.
Ancient Roman Amphitheatre: the only preserved amphitheatre in Egypt from the Roman era.
Qaitbay Citadel: built on the site of the Lighthouse of Alexandria.
Lunch: a national restaurant before returning to Hurghada.
